NARRATIVE ON PRINT - Prior to the introduction of powerlooms into the district, there was a weaving shop attached to almost every dwelling-house in the village. Handloom weaving has now almost entirely ceased in this and other villages in the locality of Arbroath, but Marywell, situated about two miles from Arbroath, on the Montrose road, is still a thriving place.
